Mavis has become the latest member of the SRT Alliance, joining hundreds of others members in collaborative community dedicated to overcoming the challenges of live video streaming.
By using SRT, a protocol designed to enable secure, low-latency streaming over unpredictable networks like the internet, members of the Alliance can ensure that their video feeds remain resilient, even under less-than-ideal conditions.
Phil Watten, Mavis CTO said: “While Mavis is revolutionising content creation workflows through it’s own technology, SRT provides the means for our customers to interface with each other using a common video protocol that brings the benefits of security and resilience. The continued adoption of SRT by many companies and platforms means SRT has become the de facto open source standard for video handoff”.
Joining the alliance aligns with Mavis’ mission to provide flexible solutions that meet the growing demands for high-quality, low-latency video content. As more organizations adopt SRT, Mavis is well-positioned to offer its customers the best streaming capabilities, enhancing everything from live event coverage to real-time collaboration on video projects.
What Is SRT?
SRT is an open-source video transport protocol designed to ensure the secure and reliable delivery of video content, even over unpredictable networks. By addressing packet loss, jitter, and fluctuating bandwidth, SRT delivers low-latency video streams without sacrificing quality. This makes it ideal for media organizations, broadcasters, and streaming service providers who are looking to expand their reach and offer seamless viewing experiences to their audiences.
